Whether it’s a weekend at the cabin, out for a hunt, or just going on a road trip–safety should always be top of mind. Here are some tips because we want you to make it back home safe and sound.

• If hunting, always practice firearm safety and always handle them as if they are loaded. 
• Wear appropriate clothing and keep visible.  
• If you are venturing out in a boat, wear a lifejacket. 
• Let family or friends know where you are headed and when to expect you back. 
• Bring essentials such as a first aid kit, plenty of water, extra clothing, waterproof fire-starting kit, etc.  
• Never keep a campfire unattended and ensure water is nearby to control any flames that might go astray. Use water to extinguish the campfire when you are done. 
• Check the weather before you leave to ensure you are prepared for the road conditions. 
• Don’t drink & drive!
