Through the combined efforts of fire suppression by our local helicopter crew and the Provincial Forestry Department, successful progress has been made on fire suppression efforts. Ground crews from Provincial Forestry will be assessing the area in the morning. Welcomed rain showers are also forecasted throughout the evening.
A huge thank you to our Churchill Falls Air Services Department and Provincial Forestry for their quick and immediate response. We also want to thank our Fire & Security personnel who maintained public safety by quickly clearing and securing key areas, and who remained on stand-by ready to support response efforts as required.
With forest fire season upon us, it is always a good practice to stay informed. Once again, we would like to share these links to some important resources.
